The 19th annual Get Lit! Festival will be held April 17-23, 2017.

Scheduled events include readings, writing workshops, poetry slams, book signings, a playwriting workshop, Q&As, panel discussions, alumni reading and much more!

We All Lived Here: An EWU MFA Alumni Reading and Reception

Both the readings and the reception are free and open to the public.

Alumni from the EWU MFA Program will be reading their recent works followed by a reception where mingling and buying books is encouraged!  The reading will be hosted by Yvonne Higgins Leach – author of Another Autumn – and Wendy Fox, author of The Pull of It and the Press 53 contest-winning collection The Seven Stages of Anger and Other Stories.

Alumni Readers include:

  • Kimberly Lambright, author of the full-length collection of poetry Ultra-Cabin and winner of the 42 Miles Press Poetry Award
  • Almeda Glenn Miller, who has published her novel Tiger Dreams and her poetry collection Begin with the Corners
  • William O’Daly, translator of Pablo Neruda and poet with two chapbooks entitled The Whale in the Web and The Road to Isla Negra
  • Kristine Lloyd who has been published in Slate and the New York Times column “Modern Love
  • Leyna Krow, the author of I’m Fine but You Appear to be Sinking
  • Maya Jewell Zeller, author of Rust Fish and Yesterday, the Bees
