Higher Education Day - Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Every other session, Eastern takes part in the annual Higher Education Day. This is a day for all state-funded colleges and universities to unite on the Capital Campus in Olympia to share success stories and highlight the needs during the coming budget cycle. Eastern Legislative Director, David Buri assists with alumni and student meetings with their Representatives and many joint activities occur throughout the day. If you are interested in joining us, we would love to have you. There will be more details coming in the months ahead.

The EWU Alumni Association asks supporters of Eastern Washington University to voluntarily contact Representatives and encourage them to show their support of the institutions budget needs. The most powerful tool we have as alumni of Eastern is our arsenal of communication. Suggested ways to communication include phone calls, e-mails, hand-written notes or personal visits. Involvement as a Washington resident helps ensure that higher education, and Eastern in particular, remain a primary component to the future of education and to the economy of Washington.
You can make a difference and help Eastern reach its goals by:
Staying knowledgeable of issues at Eastern regarding higher education legislation
Contacting your local Representatives and encouraging them to show their support of issues concerning higher education.
